Mª Ángeles Querol, a Professor of Prehistory, is the new coordinator of the Heritage Cluster for the UCM

The Rector of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, José Carrillo, has recently appointed to Mª Ángeles Querol as a coordinator of the Heritage Cluster for the UCM along with her homologue at the UPM, Juan Miguel Hernández León.

The Rector of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, José Carrillo, has recently appointed to Mª Ángeles Querol as a coordinator of the Heritage Cluster for the UCM along with her homologue at the UPM, Juan Miguel Hernández León.

Mª Ángeles Querol is a Professor of Prehistory of the Faculty of Geography and History of the UCM, she is the former deputy director of Archeology at the Ministry of Culture, the former President of the Professional Association of Archaeologists and the former president of the Comission for Archeology in Andalucia.

Querol has participated in numerous commissions of drafting of law and regulations, Historical and Cultural Heritage, academic organization of the new degree in Archeologist, in which is the coordinator, defense of gender equality and belonging to the Feminist Research Institute at the UCM.

Since the last decades, she focuses her research and teaching on two areas: the feminist archeology with publications such as “La mujer en el Origen del Hombre” (Bellaterra 2004) and the cultural Heritage. She has published several works about this subject such the book “La Gestión del Patrimonio Arqueológico en España” (Alianza 1996) and “Manual de Gestión del Patrimonio Cultural” (Akal 2010).
