  • Invernaderos de investigación del CEI, formados por 5 unidades: unidad de control, unidad de transgénicos y tres unidades de crecimiento en condiciones diferentes de temperatura, humedad e iluminación.

Need and description of the action

Se ha llevado a cabo la construcción de unos invernaderos de investigación que constan de 5 unidades: unidad de control, unidad de plantas transgénicas y tres unidades de crecimiento de material vegetal con distintas condiciones de temperatura, iluminación y humedad.
Los invernaderos de investigación del CEI dan servicio a 10 grupos de investigación de la UCM de las Facultades de Biología y Farmacia, cuyos investigadores principales tienen proyectos financiados nacionales e internacionales.

Target

Suministrar a los grupos de investigación de la UCM unas instalaciones que permitan el crecimiento y manejo de diferentes tipos de materiales vegetales en condiciones controladas de temperatura, humedad e iluminación. Mejorar el rendimiento de los experimentos que se llevan a cabo con material vegetal. Disponer de una unidad de crecimiento de plantas transgénicas con las condiciones de calidad y seguridad requeridas para este tipo de cultivos.

Expected impact

La utilización de los invernaderos del CEI por los diferentes grupos de investigación solicitantes tendrá un impacto positivo directo en el desarrollo de las líneas de investigación y de los proyectos nacionales e internacionales en los que están involucrados sus investigadores. Dichas instalaciones mejorarán notablemente las condiciones de crecimiento de los materiales vegetales utilizados y el rendimiento de las plantas. Dichas mejoras se espera que influyan en la calidad de los resultados de las investigaciones realizadas.
