Should I stay or should I go? Granule cells migration (Salvatore Incontro). Agri-Food & Health

Should I stay or should I go? Granule cells migration (Salvatore Incontro). Agri-Food & Health

Immunohistochemistry of 14 days old rat cerebellum. Antibody detection of AMPA receptor subunit GluA4 (red), GFAP (glia fibrillary acidic protein, green) and nucleus stained with DAPI (blue). At this developmental stage, cerebellar granule cells are migrating from the external granule layer (EGL) to the internal (IGL) through the bergmann glia fibers, crossing the molecular layer (ML). In the figure that represent different microscopy scale zoom, is evident the phenomena looking at the GluA4 stained spheric granule cells. The bigger are the Purkinje cells that play an important role in the last part of granule cells migration, establishing synapse with the parallel fibers, axons of the granlule cells.
