The course aims to show the experts in archeology, restoration and/or heritage conservation the bases of each of the techniques emphasizing their limits, the lecturer will also study in which materials can be applied or what are the contaminations that can affect the final result. An aspect to take into consideration is the most suitable sampling techniques for each dating techniques.
These dating techniques are helpful to the cultural and historical heritage knowledge as well as to paleontological dating, to events caused naturally (earthquakes, volcanic activity, tsunamis, etc.) or in order to understand coastal dynamics, river basins, glaciers what allow us to contribute the chronological data providing information about climate change which is of high interest to prevent future harm to people.
