Summary
The sol-gel process has become a useful tool to develop new materials with electrochemical custom-designed properties.
In this context, we pay special attention to the modulated response for electrochemical impedance of organic-inorganic hybrid materials. This technique is a valuable interactive tool that can help to prepare these materials by applying design strategies inspired by crystal engineering and molecular architecture.
Diverse examples will be exposed in order to give a global view about the wide range of possibilities of the sol-gel process. This is used to prepare useful materials for construction of electrochemical devices and other advanced applications.
