The Ecotoxicology of Air Pollution Group has more than 20 years of experience studying the effects of air pollution on plant ecosystems and agrosystems. The research of this group is focused on studying the sensitivity of Mediterranean vegetation to air pollution and defining air pollutant threshold values (critical loads and levels) for the protection of vegetation under the framework of the Long Range Transboundary Air Pollution Convention of the United Nations (Geneva Convention). Also, this group researches into the influence of climate change and air pollution on carbon and nitrogen cycles.
