El grupo de Investigación en Retrovirus Animales es uno de los escasos grupos de investigación que trata exclusivamente con virus, pudiendo aportar su experiencia y conocimientos al Proyecto Moncloa. Tiene amplia experiencia sobre diagnóstico (serológico, PCR convencional y cuantitativa), patogenia (respuesta inmune y aspectos patológicos in vivo e in vitro) y epidemiología de enfermedades animales producidas por retrovirus.
