El grupo UNISCI forma parte de la red de universidades e Institutos sobre seguridad alimentaria creada en Singapur en agosto de 2011, con motivo del primer gran congreso sobre Seguridad Alimentaria en Asia. El catedrático Antonio Marquina, director de UNISCI y director de la red de las universidades (35) Asia-Europa de la Fundación Asia-Europa (ASEF) prepara el cuarto proyecto Human Security siendo el campo temático la seguridad alimentaria
