Andrés Santos Lleo, a professor of the Department of Electronic Engineering, will be the coordinator of the i-heath cluster at the UPM
The vice-chancellor at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Carlos Conde, has recently appointed Andrés Santos Lleo as the new coordinator of i-Health cluster, replacing Mº Teresa, who was responsible for the cluster up to the present moment.

The vice-chancellor at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Carlos Conde, has recently appointed Andrés Santos Lleo as the new coordinator of i-Health cluster, replacing Mº Teresa, who was responsible for the cluster up to the present moment.
Andrés Santos is a Telecommunications Engineer since 1981 and he earned his PhD in Telecommunications in 1985 by the UPM. He is currently a professor at the Department of Electronic Engineering of the E.T.S. Telecommunications Engineering at the UPM. He is the director of the research group Biomedical Imaging Technologies and the coordinator of the BioTech Initiative at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.
Between 1987 and 1988, Santos was International Research Fellow at SRI International (Menlo Park, CA, USA). He is the author and co-author of over 50 articles of international scientific journals and over 150 publications in international congress. Andres has directed 12 doctoral theses and was the main researcher in more than 50 projects.
His main area of activity is the acquisition and analysis of biomedical images, his expertise will be the high value for the strategy of the i-health cluster along with the professor Lizasoain of the Faculty of Medicine at the Universidad Complutense of Madrid.
