Resumen

Nature and Culture have been often considered opposite to one another and object of study in different disciplines, such as “Sciences” and “Humanities”. However, some sites of our Heritage clearly involve both natural and cultural elements. Their complex and mixed character should also be considered in their management processes, in order to achieve interdisciplinary approaches and methods that allow optimizing efforts and resources.

Spain has a lot of Heritage sites integrating natural elements and cultural assets, and their sustainable use is important not only for its conservation, but also as a key for development. An integrated management of cultural and natural Heritage is thus an interesting proposal for the future and it can contribute to recovery in Spain and Europe.
