The CIE Moncloa Campus is to launch the International Centre for Latin-American Studies

The International Centre for Latin-American Studies (CIE-AL) is due to start its activities within the Moncloa Campus. It was set up by the Universidad Complutense and the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.

The International Centre for Latin-American Studies (CIE-AL) is due to start its activities within the Moncloa Campus. It was set up by the Universidad Complutense and the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. The CIE-AL aims to become an international centre of excellence for the development, transfer and management of knowledge about Latin-American. The professors and staff assigned to the CIE-Al come from both universities. Students who will be involved in the centre come from different areas of knowledge: history, sociology, politics, anthropology, economics, literary studies and visual arts.

The two universities agreed that the CIE-AL will have the headquarters at the Instituto Complutense de Estudios Internacionales (Somosaguas Campus). The centre will have its intrauniversity governance and will start its educational activities the next academic year 2012-2013. The International Centre for Latin-American Studies is supported by the Banco Santander through the agreement signed on 14th September 2010.
