This group has emerged fron the Hydrobiology Laboratory of the School of Forestry Engineers (UPM), which has over twenty-five years of research on stream ecosystems. Their experience is mainly based on the macroinvertebrate and fish communities and in dynamic of riparian systems. The applied aspects of his research focuses on the assessment of the impacts of human activity on rivers (dam effects and flow regulation), in the management of fisheries, in the analysis of river landscapes and river and riparian restoration
