Main research lines

  • Identification of animal species in food and feed by genetic and immunological techniques
    Objetives: Selection of immunological and genetics markers for animal species identification in food and feed
    Methodologies: ELISA, ANTIBODIES, PCR, real-time PCR.
  • Detección e identificación rápida de microorganismos de interés higiénico-sanitario y sus metabolitos en alimentos.
    Objetivos: Identificación de especies de Alternaria mediante técnicas genéticas y detección de Alternaria spp. y micotoxinas producidas por este género en alimentos. Detección rápida de levaduras alterantes en alimentos. Identificación y detección de Arcobacter spp. en alimentos mediante técnicas genéticas.
  • DETECTION OF FOOD ALLERGENS AND AUTHENTICATION OF CROP SPECIES USING RECOMBINANT ANTIBODIES AND GENETIC METHODS
    Objetives: Production of recombinant antibodies against food allergens and development of rapid techniques for detecting hidden allergenic ingredients in foods. Development of genetic techniques for detection of hidden food allergen and for the authenticity assessment of vegetable products.
    Methodologies: recombinant antibodies. ELISA, Western blot. real time PCR. protein purification (FPLC, HPLC).
